And with the camera being so small, it is also ideally suited for surveillance work.
It works hands free, simply clip the camera to your shirt, collar, glasses or rear-view mirror (Car Driving) and you can record by pressing just one button.
The device is also notable for the possible installation of the second connector CCTV for AV-IN (rear camera) or wireless camera (via receiver). The additional camera is equipped only by the automatic recording function - that means a standard way of recording, not continuous loop recoding.
The picture quality is extremely good, at VGA real time, at 30 frames per second, giving you about 2 hours recording on a 2GB memory card.
The MP415 is also a superb portable MPEG4 (Movie) and MP3 (Music) player. It fits in the palm of your hand, and has some impressive features and functions, such as a 2.5" TFT display, fold out stereo speakers! Given the size of the speakers, the sound quality is pretty good!
The MP415 comes with 128MB of internal flash memory, however this can easily be expanded to 4GB through the use of SD or MMC memory cards.
When you plug it into your PC, it also acts like a USB Flash drive, making it also ideal for backing up data, or taking vital documents home with you. What's more important that you don't need to cut a video file while using the continuous loop recoding function cause a footage is recorded by short video clips (20 sec.). You choose the video clip which you are interested in and download on your PC, personal Internet site (Youtube, LifeJournal etc.) or just keep it as a material evidence (Car Driving).
You can even connect the MP415 to a TV or DVD player, and record your favourite programmes or movies. The recording resolution is 640x480 (VGA) 30fps. You can then use the movie player to playback films or programs you have recorded or downloaded from your PC, and you can also connect the AV to a TV for playback.
There are two multifunctional video ports AV IN / AV OUT and one mini USB2.
The rechargeable lithium-ion battery used in the MP415 is a standard NP-60, so if you ever need to replace it, you can get a spare easily enough. You can recharge it whether you are at home or in a car - you get two adapters in the compete package (automobile and power ones). Thanks to the function "screen-off" (energy-saving) the device operates much longer.
